Power Solutions Australia is recognised by its customers as a key provider of power electronic converter products and services to meet their needs particularly for renewable energy and remote area power systems. We achieve this by commitment to meeting customer needs, our experience, expertise and advanced hardware and software technologies.
Our products are internationally competitive and are recognised for their high levels of integration and functionality. We work closely with customers and distributors to design and provide power electronic products that meet their needs, and identify and explore emerging opportunities and markets that draw on the company's skills and expertise. All customers receive a high level of support irrespective of their size, location or product.
The company is widely recognised in the industry for the effectiveness, reliability and breadth of its product range in remote area power, renewable and grid connected applications.
On 1 July 2000 Selectronic Australia took ownership of 51% of PSA. Selectronic has contract manufactured PSA's standard 3kW and 5kW products since that time and has designed and manufactured its own range of inverters up to 4kW. The association brings together two major players in the Australian renewable industry.
James started with the State Electricity Commission in 1962 during his undergraduate
studies and competed his PhD in 1971 studying voltage transient responses of
EHV power systems. He worked with the SEC designing transmission control systems
before moving in 1976 to L&L designing hardware and software for retail
self serve and bulk fuel dispensing systems.
After seven years at the Australian Road Research Board working on instrumentation
systems he started work with Butler Solar Systems in 1991 designing sine wave
PWM inverters for Remote Area Power applications. In 1997 he became Managing
Director and one of the three owners of Power Solutions Australia, which took
over the assets of Butler Solar Systems.
Ken Scott is also Managing Director of Selectronic Australia. He initiated
and directed Selectronic Australias renewable energy products division
from its outset in 1983, and has been responsible for managing the design, manufacture
and marketing of their highly successful product range. With his experience
in management combined with his background in electrical engineering, he brings
to Power Solutions Australia expertise that will supplement and balance their
recognised technical excellence and product innovation.
